RASC News Agency: On Sunday, Iran’s “Jomhouri Eslami” newspaper published an article titled “This Group Neither Accepts Islamic Unity Nor Values the Islamic Republic’s System,” offering a scathing critique of the Taliban, branding them as an extremist faction disconnected from the broader Islamic world. The author delved into the Iranian government’s relationship with the Taliban, remarking: “One of the most significant blunders of the 13th administration is that, while the Islamic Republic of Iran does not officially recognize the Taliban’s illegal and self-imposed coup government, it has nevertheless extended nearly all the privileges that come with formal recognition.
The Afghanistan Embassy in Tehran and the Consulate in Mashhad have been handed over to the Taliban, military advisors from the group have been welcomed, trade agreements signed, and political, cultural, and commercial delegations exchanged. The Taliban are invited to official ceremonies, and now this divisive group has been extended an invitation to the Islamic Unity Conference.”
The newspaper urges the Iranian government to adopt a more diplomatic stance and calls for the retraction of privileges granted to the Taliban, including control of the Afghanistan Embassy and Consulate in Tehran and Mashhad. The Taliban representative’s recent disrespect towards Iran’s national anthem has ignited widespread outrage among Iranian analysts and citizens. Many perceive the representative’s refusal to stand during the anthem as a grave insult to the Iranian people and the nation as a whole.
