RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan House of Freedom of Expression confirmed on Sunday that Abdul Aziz Sakhi Zada, a former anchor for Ariana News Television, was attacked by unidentified assailants near his residence in Pakistan, sustaining injuries to his head. Mr. Sakhi Zada, in a post on his Facebook page, confirmed the incident, stating that around 10 PM on Sunday, September 15, he was shot at near his home in Pakistan. He added that he suffered minor head injuries.

Sakhi Zada has yet to comment on the identity or motives of the attackers. It is worth noting that a few months ago, this Afghanistani journalist had reported being beaten by Taliban fighters in Kabul.

Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and imposed increasing restrictions on journalists and media outlets, dozens of reporters have been forced to flee the country. Some of them, while awaiting transfer to Western nations, are currently in Pakistan, where they also face threats. Previously, Ahmad Henaish, head of private radio station Kahkashan and a reporter for Radio Azadi, was attacked by two armed motorcyclists in Islamabad on April 3.

It is important to note that the Taliban, in coordination with other active terrorist organizations in Pakistan, are targeting their critics and opponents. This situation has caused great concern among Afghanistani journalists, writers, and civil society activists, many of whom have sought refuge in Pakistan in the face of adversity.
