Indian Newspaper: Hamza bin Laden, Son-in-Law of Mullah Omar, Assumes Leadership of Al-Qaeda

RASC News Agency: According to a recent report by the Indian newspaper “Mint”, citing security experts, Hamza bin Laden son of the late Osama bin Laden and son-in-law of Mullah Omar is reportedly alive and orchestrating a new attack reminiscent of September 11 from Afghanistan targeting the West.

The report claims that Hamza bin Laden, previously believed to be dead, now leads Al-Qaeda. Despite the Taliban’s previous denials of any ties with Al-Qaeda and the group’s activities within their territory, the report suggests that the 43-year-old Hamza bin Laden not only survived the CIA operation in 2019 but, together with his brother Abdullah bin Laden, is covertly managing Al-Qaeda’s operations from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. According to “Mint”, the brothers have established ten significant “Al-Qaeda terror training camps” in Afghanistan and have forged global connections with other anti-Western factions.

The report, based on security analyses, reveals that Hamza bin Laden spends much of his time in Nangarhar Province under the protection of 450 elite sharpshooters. It further states that the former Al-Qaeda leader is not only alive but actively involved in revitalizing the network, with senior Taliban leaders reportedly aware of his activities. “Citing” a report from “The Mirror”, “Mint” notes that Taliban leaders regularly meet with Hamza bin Laden and ensure his and his family’s security. The report also suggests that Al-Qaeda, under Hamza bin Laden’s leadership, is regrouping and preparing for future attacks against Western targets.

“Mint” further reveals that Hamza bin Laden has maintained close collaboration with Ayman al-Zawahiri, who succeeded his father as Al-Qaeda’s leader. This stands in contrast to the 2019 announcement by the White House under Donald Trump, which claimed that U.S. special forces had successfully targeted Hamza bin Laden in Ghazni Province. The “Mint” report concludes that Al-Qaeda, now led by Hamza bin Laden, is cooperating with ISIS, which has intensified fears of another September 11-style attack on the West.
