Freedom Front: The Time for Unity and Cohesion Among Anti-Taliban Forces Has Arrived

RASC News Agency: On the occasion of the third anniversary of the Taliban’s control over Afghanistan, the Freedom Front has declared that the time has come for “unity, cohesion, and alignment among all anti-Taliban factions and forces.” In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 14, the Freedom Front emphasized that the only way to change the current circumstances and liberate the Afghanistani people from the “grip” of the Taliban is through comprehensive resistance.

The Front referred to the Taliban as a “regressive group” and noted that over the past three years, the people of Afghanistan have endured numerous hardships and disruptions, with social distress, economic challenges, and physical and psychological insecurity prevailing across society. The statement continued: “Armed Taliban enforcers, under the guise of promoting virtue and preventing vice, have humiliated the dignity of Afghanistani women and men in broad daylight. The filthy hands of Taliban’s notorious militias, in the dark dungeons and torture chambers of this group, are stained with the abuse, torture, and violation of brave, informed, and fighting Afghanistani women and girls who have dared to demand their human rights.”

The Freedom Front asserted that no independent media can operate freely within Afghanistan, and that with changes in educational curricula, the country’s schools have been transformed by the Taliban into centers of indoctrination and radicalization. The Freedom Front further noted that extremist foreign groups with violent and divisive agendas, such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS-Khorasan, TTP, Ansarullah, Jaish al-Adl, and other terrorist organizations, not only enjoy complete freedom of movement but also have access to all state facilities and services.

It is worth noting that three years have passed since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan, during which time they have imposed widespread restrictions on the daily lives and businesses of the people, exacerbating poverty. International organizations have reported that since the Taliban’s return to power, Afghanistan under their rule has become a safe haven for terrorist groups.
