Moral Corruption: Taliban Judge Arrested in Herat

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Herat province report that a Taliban judge has been arrested on charges of engaging in an extramarital affair with the wife of the group’s former governor for Farshi district. Sources informed the media on Friday, July 20, that the judge, Mullah Nuhullah, was working in the Farshi district of Herat province.

According to sources, despite having three wives, Mullah Nuhullah established a relationship with the wife of the former Taliban governor for the district. The former Taliban governor for Farshi district is currently serving as a member of the Taliban’s intelligence directorate in Herat province.

Local Taliban authorities in Herat have not yet commented on the matter. This news comes amid previous incidents where Taliban officials and forces in various provinces were arrested on charges of engaging in extramarital affairs. Reports indicate that while the Taliban arrest their members involved in such moral corruption cases, these individuals are often released without trial after a few days.

Despite these actions, the Taliban consistently announce public punishments for accusations such as extramarital affairs, theft, and other alleged crimes. These actions have drawn widespread criticism from human rights organizations, which have condemned them as violations of human dignity and have called on the Taliban to cease such practices.
