RASC News Agency: Local sources from Kunar province report that recent flooding has tragically claimed the lives of five individuals, including women and children. According to these sources, the incident occurred on the morning of Monday, July 15, affecting both the central region and remote districts of the province.
The floods have caused significant financial damage to residents, with reports indicating that up to 38 homes, hundreds of acres of farmland, several water supply networks, and roads have been destroyed. This event has been confirmed by local authorities from the Taliban in Kunar, underscoring that such natural disasters have previously inflicted considerable harm on citizens.
In a related incident, on the same day, severe flooding in Maidan Wardak province devastated hundreds of acres of agricultural land. Natural disasters, including floods and earthquakes, continue to claim lives and result in substantial financial losses for the populace each year.
Additionally, sources have previously reported that flooding in Panjshir province has blocked public roads. These reports emerge amid concerns that the Taliban has yet to implement any specific programs to assist victims of natural disasters.
Furthermore, the need for humanitarian aid has surged since the Taliban’s takeover, driven by increasing poverty, unemployment, and the restrictions imposed by the group.
