RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Supreme Court has announced that they recently punished an individual in public in the Moqor district of Ghazni province on charges of “illicit relations.” According to a statement released by the Taliban’s Supreme Court on Tuesday, July 9, the individual was flogged yesterday based on the primary court’s ruling in the Moqor district.

The statement detailed that the accused received 39 lashes and was also sentenced to ten years of imprisonment by the Taliban. The flogging was carried out following the confirmation of the sentence by the Taliban’s appellate court in Ghazni province and the Supreme Court. Since gaining control of the country, the Taliban have frequently flogged accused individuals in public and have executed five people in various provinces in the presence of hundreds of spectators.

It is important to note that such corporal punishments and executions by the Taliban are considered violations of international laws and human dignity. Human rights organizations have repeatedly called for an end to these practices. However, despite these calls from human rights bodies, the Taliban have intensified public corporal punishments, with daily reports emerging of such actions.

It is worth mentioning that the Taliban have been known to release their own members accused of moral and financial corruption without any trial, while they continue to punish the general populace.
