Wursaji: Afghanistan’s Future Always Determined by External Meetings

RASC News Agency: Azim Wursaji, the former Afghanistani ambassador to Qatar, has remarked that the future of Afghanistan has always been determined by external meetings. In an interview with RASC News Agency published on Saturday, June 29, Wursaji stated that until the youth are included in discussions about Afghanistan, no significant change will occur.

Wursaji further noted that the Taliban lacks a cohesive political opposition, both culturally and in terms of popular unity. He added that political factions abroad, without proper coordination, will also fail. According to Wursaji, the way to bring the Taliban to the negotiation table includes broad international sanctions, cutting off economic resources, halting security and ideological support, and establishing a strong counterforce.

It is worth noting that nearly three years into Taliban rule, the group has not adhered to their commitments made during the Doha meetings, which included respecting human rights, especially women’s rights, and forming an inclusive government. Political factions, consisting of former government officials, have previously held a fourth meeting in Vienna aimed at finding a solution to ensure a stable future for Afghanistan.
