RASC News Agency: Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, has affirmed their commitment to restoring hope for the Afghanistani people. Ahmad Massoud made this statement on Wednesday, June 26, during a press conference on the third day of the Vienna conference, which was attended by representatives from various segments of Afghanistan society, including women.
The leader of the Afghanistan Resistance Front clarified that the fourth Vienna conference was convened to devise a roadmap for ending the crisis in Afghanistan and would be beneficial. He described the conference as “broad and inclusive,” noting its extensive and advantageous nature. Ahmad Massoud emphasized that the participants were able to discuss various issues during the conference. He asserted that in the next round of the Vienna conference, efforts would be made to continue the dialogues and achieve their primary objectives.
It is noteworthy that the first two days of this conference were attended by 70 political, military, cultural, and civil figures opposed to the Taliban, many of whom emphasized the need to form a united front against the Taliban and outlined a specific mechanism for “a democratic Afghanistan.” Hazrat Ali, a former parliamentarian, also urged exiled politicians to form a shadow government. This conference was held amidst the Taliban’s derisive characterization of its participants as “a lost group.”
It is important to note that the upcoming third Doha meeting, hosted by the United Nations, will also include the Taliban, who have shown enthusiasm to participate. However, it has been specified that women will not be allowed to participate in the Doha meeting, and discussions on human rights issues will be omitted.
