RASC News Agency: Rahmatullah Nabil, former director of Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security, has criticized Rina Amiri, the U.S. Special Envoy for Afghanistani Women, labeling her as “incompetent” and asserting that her complete ineffectiveness is now glaringly apparent to the public. In a recent statement on X, Nabil lambasted the third Doha meeting and the exclusion of Afghanistani women from it. He pointedly noted the silence from U.S. State Department representatives Tom West and Rina Amiri regarding this exclusion.
Nabil expressed deep concern regarding Rina Amiri’s role, stressing that women’s rights and human rights in Afghanistan fall squarely within her official responsibilities designated by the United States. He urged Afghanistan civil society groups to demand that Rina Amiri address this issue decisively or consider resigning from her position. The third Doha meeting is scheduled to proceed without the participation of female representatives. Women’s protest movements have declared a boycott of the meeting in protest against their exclusion.
Currently, 100 women from 28 Afghanistan provinces have announced their participation in the boycott. Additionally, reports suggest that several countries will also abstain from attending the meeting due to the absence of female participants.
Earlier, Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that the agenda for the third Doha meeting had been shared with the Taliban, who will attend after their representatives approved the agenda. Anti-Taliban factions have also voiced objections to the Taliban’s invitation to this meeting, expressing concerns about the organizing body’s actions.
