Armed Nomads Devastate Farmlands in Ghazni

RASC News Agency: Sources from Ghazni province report that armed nomads have once again attacked the local population, this time devastating farmlands in Nawur district. On Saturday, June 22, sources informed the media that dozens of nomadic families have settled in Nawur district over the past week and have completely destroyed the farmlands of the local residents.

According to these sources, most of these nomads are armed and have ruined the crops in the “Bahai” area of Nawur district by driving their livestock through the fields. Sources added that residents of the “Bahai” area approached Taliban officials in the region to complain about the nomads’ actions, but the Taliban responded that the nomads have the right to use these lands.

The aggressive and violent behavior of armed nomads towards the residents of various districts in Ghazni is not a new issue. Just last week, these nomads attacked the residents of Malistan district in Ghazni, injuring three people and seizing several livestock. Meanwhile, the Taliban’s support for these armed nomads in seizing land, livestock, and grazing areas from the residents of Nawur, Malistan, and Jaghori districts in Ghazni has facilitated the forced displacement of these communities.

Since the Taliban took control of the country, they have engaged in discriminatory behavior against other ethnic groups, violating many of their rights.
