RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab province report that an internal clash among Taliban members has resulted in the deaths of two of their own. Sources informed the media on Thursday, June 20, that the clash occurred the previous day between individuals under the command of the Taliban’s district commander for Lowlash and the district governor for the same area.

According to sources, the altercation, which reportedly stemmed from a “moral issue,” led to the deaths of two Taliban members and left two others injured. Sources indicated that the clash took place between Commander Ismail, the Taliban commander for Lowlash district, and Damla Zubair, the current district governor of the Taliban in this province.

Taliban officials in Faryab have yet to comment on the incident. It is worth noting that similar incidents have occurred in various provinces before. Reports indicate that there are existing tensions among Taliban members at different levels, occasionally leading to clashes and resulting in casualties.

In a related development, sources previously reported that Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the reclusive leader of the Taliban, had decided to remove Sirajuddin Haqqani from his position as the group’s Interior Minister.
