RASC News Agency: Zahir Aghbar, Afghanistan’s ambassador in Dushanbe, announced that the Tajikistani government has allocated 50 scholarships for Afghanistani students. He made this announcement today, Saturday, June 15, via a message on the social media platform X. Aghbar added that the Afghanistan embassy in Dushanbe will conduct exams to identify deserving candidates for these scholarships.

Aghbar stated that priority will be given to female students. Afghanistani girls above the sixth grade have been deprived of education under Taliban rule. He urged interested students to submit the required documents to the education attaché of the Afghanistan embassy in Tajikistan by July 25. Aghbar did not specify the academic levels or the universities in Tajikistan offering these scholarships.

He said, “At a time when the doors of education remain closed to our girls and the quality of education is at its lowest, these scholarships offer hope for nurturing a new generation of specialists to serve society.” During nearly three years of their rule, the Taliban have imposed increasing restrictions on the education of girls, barring them from all fields except health.
