RASC News Agency: Muhammad Mohaqiq, leader of Afghanistan’s National Unity Party, in an interview titled “Doha Meeting: Analyzing the Current Situation in Afghanistan,” organized by RASC News Agency, stated, “The world is paying off the Taliban.”
Mr. Mohaqiq added, “Neighboring countries have taken charge of the Taliban’s security.” In this interview held on Friday night, Mohaqiq discussed the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, asserting that Afghanistan’s neighbors assist the Taliban in various matters, even securing Afghanistan’s safety. He noted that the international community is subsidizing the Taliban, with the United States alone sending millions of dollars weekly, alongside other global contributions under different pretexts.
He stated, “Resistance cannot progress due to the intervention of neighboring countries,” emphasizing that Afghanistan’s neighbors support the Taliban in various ways, including financial aid. Iran has been a consistent supporter of the Taliban. Iranian officials have frequently stated that Iran backed the Taliban for twenty years until the West was defeated. In his recently published book, former Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif mentioned, “The Taliban came to power with Iran’s funding, which was a significant mistake and miscalculation for Iran.”
Pakistan has always supported the Taliban and is even considered the creator of the group. According to Colonel Imam’s account, Pakistan created the Taliban to pursue its interests in Afghanistan, referring to them as “good sons.” Most neighboring countries and the United States do not wish for the Taliban regime to be toppled soon. Mohaqiq further stated that the United States does not intend to wage war against the Taliban. According to verified reports, the Taliban returned to power with American support, and the U.S. will not act until it secures its interests.
Following the fall of the country and the Taliban’s takeover, Afghanistan entered a new phase. People lost their jobs, and the youth fled to other countries. Everyone is seeking an escape route. People report suffering from poverty, misery, unemployment, and lack of freedom. Mohaqiq emphasized that the Afghanistani people will endure prolonged suffering.
