RASC News Agency: Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, recently declared that “the enemy’s weakness lies in our unity” and emphasized that neither the East nor the West will come to our aid. Massoud made these remarks on May 29th during an online event commemorating the thirteenth anniversary of the deaths of General Dawood Dawood and General Shahjahan Nouri.
He asserted that Afghanistan, under Taliban rule, is grappling with tyranny, terror, and oppression. However, he emphasized that justice and freedom are imminent and urged the people to unite against these injustices. The leader of this military front opposing the Taliban believes that achieving freedom and social justice requires sincere struggle and unity.
Additionally, General Sami Sadat, the former Afghanistan army commander, stated that internal conspiracies led to the fall of the previous government and that a “moral collapse” among the political elite resulted in the collapse of the republic. Sadat continued, expressing confidence that the opponents of the Taliban regime have the capacity to overthrow it.
General Dawood Dawood, the police commander of Afghanistan’s northern zone, and Shahjahan Nouri, the police commander of Takhar, were killed on May 28, 2011, in a suicide bombing in Takhar Province. At that time, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Reports indicate that during the republican regime, the Taliban frequently claimed responsibility for attacks on military personnel.
