RASC News Agency: Local Taliban officials in Ghor Province have reported that a child drowned in the Hari River in Firozkoh, the provincial capital. The Taliban’s police command in Ghor announced in a statement that the child, 12-year-old Naqibullah, drowned in the Hari River on Monday, May 27th.

According to the statement, the incident occurred in the village of Gandaab in Firozkoh, and the child passed away after being transported to the hospital. The Taliban’s statement did not provide further details on how the child drowned, noting only that similar incidents have occurred previously.

Negligence by citizens and the delayed response of rescue teams are often cited as reasons for such incidents, which frequently result in fatalities, particularly among children. Reports indicate that natural disasters during the current season have led to thousands of deaths and injuries and have destroyed thousands of homes and shops.
