On Saturday, May 25th, local sources informed the media that the young woman was gunned down in Chaghatak village, Almar District, last Thursday by a Taliban member named Zabihullah.
According to sources, the victim, Halima, was killed by her cousin, who is also the bodyguard of Qari Asadullah Haqqani, the financial chief of the Taliban in Almar District. Sources added that Zabihullah had a familial relationship with Halima and had been in a prolonged dispute over marrying her. Reports indicate that the incident occurred because Halima rejected Zabihullah’s marriage proposal.
