RASC News Agency: Local sources in Kandahar province report that an explosion in the provincial capital has claimed the lives of at least six people, including a Taliban commander, and injured four others. Sources indicate that the explosion was caused by a mine hidden in a cart and occurred around 7:00 AM on Monday, May 20, at “Kabul Station” in Kandahar city.

Meanwhile, the Taliban police command in Kandahar reported that the incident resulted in one death and three injuries. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion. However, a similar attack a month ago in Kandahar’s first district killed over 45 people, including five Taliban officials, and injured 56 others.

The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for that previous attack onvthe Kabul Bank provincial office in Kandahar, stating that their attacker detonated a suicide belt among a crowd of approximately 150 Taliban members.

This report comes in the wake of an ISIS attack last Friday on foreign tourists in Bamyan province, which resulted in the deaths of six people, including three foreigners.
