Taliban Detains Two Local Government Employees in Panjshir Province

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Panjshir province report that Taliban forces have detained a municipal employee and a staff member from the Department of Labor and Social Affairs. Sources informed the media on Sunday, May 12th, that these individuals were apprehended by the Taliban from their workplaces last Thursday.

According to sources, the detained municipal employee is named Ferdin, while the detained staff member from the Department of Labor and Social Affairs is identified as Sadam in this province.

Sources add that it remains unclear what prompted the Taliban to detain these individuals, and authorities of this group in Panjshir have yet to comment on the matter.

During their nearly three-year rule over the country, the Taliban have demonstrated inconsistency in their treatment of non-Pashtun employees, frequently detaining local government employees in Panjshir province.

In a recent incident, Taliban members in Panjshir province detained two employees from the Institute of Higher Education and a staff member from the Department of Agriculture in recent months.
