RASC News Agency: Local Taliban authorities in Zabul province report that an explosion of a landmine in the province has resulted in the death of one child and injuries to five others. According to a statement issued by the Taliban security command in Zabul province, the incident occurred on May 11th, in the vicinity of Shah Safa district in Zabul province.

The statement from the Taliban security command in Zabul province mentioned that this landmine was a remnant of past conflicts, leading to the tragic death of a child. Shah Safa district is regarded as one of the areas that have experienced intense clashes between the Taliban group and the forces of the former government over the past two decades.

Previously, explosive remnants of war and planted landmines have claimed the lives of numerous children and injured several others across various provinces of the country. The latest reports indicate that nearly 606 square kilometers of Afghanistan soil are contaminated with mines and explosive ordnance.
