RASC News Agency: Sources from Sar-e Pol report that the Taliban executed four members of a family in the province and took four others into custody. The attack took place on Wednesday, May 8, in the village of Garziwan in Kohistanat district, Sar-e Pol province, according to the sources. The deceased included Abdullah, a 52-year-old man, his 22-year-old son, a 25-year-old woman, and a nine-year-old girl. Additionally, sources identified the four detained individuals as Ghulam Sakhi, Ebad, Guma, and Suleiman Qul. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
Relatives of the detainees told reporters that the individuals taken into custody were former military personnel, and they alleged that the Taliban subjected them to harsh torture. Local residents claim that following the massacre and detentions, the Taliban forcibly displaced over 40 other families from the village.VBefore carrying out the massacre, sources say the Taliban disrupted telecommunications services, particularly internet connectivity.
Local Taliban officials have yet to comment on the incident. Despite the Taliban leader’s declaration of a general amnesty upon taking control of the country, the group has repeatedly ignored it, arresting and killing former military personnel in numerous incidents. On Monday of this week, the Taliban executed a former military member in a summary trial in Maimana, the capital of Faryab province.
