RASC News Agency: Local Taliban authorities in Baghlan province report that a young man has committed suicide in the province. According to a statement from the Taliban’s police command in Baghlan province, the incident occurred yesterday, May 6, in the village of Kokchenar, in central Baghlan district.

The statement noted that the young man, aged 18, ended his life using a Kalashnikov rifle. The exact reason for the young man’s suicide remains unknown.

The suicide rate among citizens has increased since the Taliban took control of the country, attributed to rising poverty and the group’s strict restrictions on daily life.

Statistics indicate that in the past 18 days alone, at least eight individuals in the provinces of Balkh, Badakhshan, Ghazni, and Baghlan have taken their own lives.
