RASC News Agency: Local sources in Panjshir province have informed the media that the Taliban recently whipped two people in public in the province on charges of adultery. On Sunday, May 5, local sources reported that the Panjshir provincial primary court issued the sentence to whip the two individuals.

According to a statement released by the Taliban court, the individuals were accused of adultery and each received 39 lashes. It is reported that since taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban have repeatedly whipped accused individuals in public and conducted summary trials.

Previously, the group carried out five executions in the provinces of Farah, Laghman, Ghazni, and Jowzjan. Human rights organizations view the public punishment of individuals as a violation of their human dignity and have called for it to end.
