Armed Robbers Killed Student in Balkh Province

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Balkh province report that armed robbers on motorcycles killed a young man named Fayaz in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital. Sources told the media on Saturday, May 4, that the incident occurred the previous day after Fayyaz tried to prevent the armed robbers from stealing his phone. The robbers then shot and killed him.

According to sources, Fayaz was a resident of Burki Barak district in Logar province and a first-year law and political science student at Balkh University. Since the Taliban assumed power, there has been a significant increase in criminal activity across the country, including targeted killings, mysterious murders, kidnappings, and armed robberies.

This news comes as the Taliban have consistently claimed that complete security prevails across the country and that people’s lives and properties are safe, yet reports of such incidents have become more frequent. Meanwhile, many citizens allege that members of the Taliban themselves are involved in such incidents, attributing them to unidentified armed assailants.
