RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Ministry of State for Natural Disaster Management announced that the recent floods in the country have resulted in the deaths of eight people and injuries to three others.

Janan Saeq, a spokesperson for the ministry, informed the media on Sunday, April 28, that the recent flooding also damaged 140 homes. Saeq noted that following heavy rainfall, destructive floods hit the provinces of Nangarhar, Takhar, Maidan Wardak, Herat, Kandahar, Badghis, Ghor, Samangan, Panjshir, Laghman, Kunar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Sar-e Pol, and Parwan, causing both human and material losses.

Victims of the recent floods told the media they have not yet received any assistance from local Taliban officials. According to a prior report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), recent rainfall in the country has destroyed over 1,500 acres of agricultural land, more than 540 homes, and other natural infrastructure across seven provinces in Afghanistan.

It is important to note that several provinces in the country have recently experienced severe rainfall, storms, floods, and lightning.
