Man Kills His Wife in Parwan

RASC News Agency reports that local sources in Parwan province confirmed the recent murder of a woman by her husband. Sources told the media on Monday, April 22, that the incident took place the previous night in Deh Mulla village in the Bagram district of the province.

A resident of Bagram district described the murder: “Her husband had forbidden her from speaking to her brother. However, as both families lived in the same compound, she felt compelled to communicate with her brother-in-law, which led her husband to kill her late at night.”

According to sources, the suspect in this incident is named Parwiz, who strangled his wife to death. The Taliban have since arrested him in Kabul. The woman leaves behind two young children. She had been married for nearly six years, and the Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.

Since the Taliban regained control of the country, the rate of domestic violence and femicide has risen significantly across various regions. A few days ago, unidentified gunmen murdered two women in the Aala Sai district of Kapisa province, with domestic violence cited as the cause of that incident as well.
