RASC News Agency: The Supreme Court of the Taliban announced that members of this group have recently punished three individuals on charges of “sodomy” and “theft” in Zabul province.

According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court of the Taliban, this verdict was executed by the members of this group on Sunday, April 14th. The Taliban statement stated that the Supreme Court of this group sentenced each of the defendants to six, eight, and ten months in prison, along with 10 to 20 lashes.

According to the statement, this verdict was implemented in Zabul with the presence of some Taliban court officials and in accordance with the ruling of the initial court of this group. Previously, members of the Taliban in various provinces of the country have punished individuals on charges such as “immorality,” “adultery,” “dishonor,” “theft,” “illicit relations,” and “whipping” in public.

The public punishment of suspects by the Taliban group has sparked widespread reactions, and human rights organizations have repeatedly urged this group to cease such actions. However, the Taliban group has continued to punish suspects in public, and after gaining control over the country, they have frequently punished suspects publicly and have been unaccountable to any authority.
