RASC News Agency: Reputable sources report that the Taliban’s morality police prevented women from entering the Golghondi Hill recreation area in Parwan Province during the Eid festivities. According to information disclosed by the media on Friday, Apr 12, the Taliban group has taken action against “women with hijab and their families for indecent and demeaning behavior.”
Sources state that women wearing “religious hijab and accompanied by a mahram” have been harassed and mistreated by the Taliban’s morality police. Sources narrate: “Taliban officials resorted to highly indecent and derogatory behavior, accompanied by vulgar language, especially towards women.” Golghondi Hill, situated north of Kabul near the city of Charikar in Parwan Province, is a favored destination for people, particularly during the spring season, Eid, and Nowruz, where families visit for recreation.
During their over two-year rule, the Taliban imposed numerous restrictions on citizens’ lives, especially women, and also prohibited women from accessing parks and recreational areas. Last spring, the Taliban also denied women entry to Golghondi Hill. The violent actions of this group against citizens, especially women, have been widely condemned.
