Landslide in Samangan Province Leaves Dozens of Families Displaced

RASC News Agency: Local sources have confirmed to the media that dozens of families have been displaced and have abandoned their homes following a landslide in Samangan Province. Sources added that this incident occurred two days ago, Apr 7, in the villages of Khustiha, within the city of Aybak, the central district of this province.

 

These sources estimate the depth of this landslide to be up to fifty meters, which occurred in several locations within this village. According to the sources, as a result of this incident, the orchards and homes of the village residents have sunk. These sources have not provided details regarding the extent of the area affected by this landslide.

 

Local media have reported that Taliban forces are preventing them and others from filming the scene of the incident. It is reported that around fifty families have been relocated to a safe area from the incident site. No casualties from this incident have been reported so far.

 

Local authorities of the Taliban group in Samangan Province have not yet issued any comments to the media regarding this matter.
