RASC News Agency: Hassan Bigdeli, the Chief of Zanjan Public and Revolutionary Courts, asserts that Zanjan Province is among the provinces with restrictions on the employment of foreign nationals. However, despite legal and law enforcement measures on this matter, the employment of foreign nationals in Zanjan Province is increasing.
He further stated that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is mandated to penalize employers who hire foreign nationals without permits, imposing fines five times the minimum daily wage for each day of unauthorized employment, with the penalty doubling for repeated offenses.
He emphasized that despite written warnings issued by the Director-General of Labor and Social Welfare Cooperation in the province to offending employers and notifications of fines, many refrain from paying fines, resulting in annual amounts reaching billions of Tomans.
Bigdeli mentioned that to tackle this issue, a meeting convened with representatives from the General Directorate of Deeds and Properties Registration, the Directorate of Cooperation, Labor, and Social Welfare, and the judicial deputies of the Chief of Zanjan Public and Revolutionary Courts to analyze the matter, relevant laws, and devise solutions for managing the aforementioned challenge.
It’s noteworthy that Iranian authorities use the term “foreign nationals” to denote Afghanistani migrants. Restricted provinces, numbering over 16, deprive Afghanistani migrants of the right to travel and reside, while nationals of other countries can live and move freely without any restrictions.
