RASC News Agency: Local sources in Badakhshan have reported a fire outbreak in the “Madina Bazaar” of Keshm district in the province, where more than fifty shops and stalls have been completely ravaged by flames. The blaze occurred on Friday evening, Apr 6, as a result of an electrical connection.

Sources have confirmed to the media that locals managed to contain the fire themselves, and local Taliban authorities did not cooperate in extinguishing the blaze. The extent of the damage caused by this incident remains unclear; however, sources have indicated that among the affected businesses are five gold shops.

Mohammadullah, one of the gold merchants in the “Madina Bazaar,” claimed that over half a million kabuli rupees, his capital, were looted during the fire outbreak. Local Taliban authorities in Badakhshan province have not yet commented to the media regarding this fire incident in Kashim district.

Previously, in the past year, twenty shops in the bazaar of Keshm district were also engulfed in flames.
