Saleh: Taliban Group Has Become a Symbol for Regional Terrorist Groups

RASC News Agency: Amrullah Saleh, the former Vice President of Afghanistan, responded to today’s attack in Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran, stating that the Taliban have become a model for their terrorist counterparts, such as Jaish-ul-Adl.

In a statement today, Amrullah Saleh condemned the recent events in Sistan, writing that Jaish-ul-Adl’s assault on the military installations of the Revolutionary Guards in the cities of Chabahar and Rask in Sistan, Iran, indicates that the Taliban group has become an influential source for its associates, including Jaish-ul-Adl.

Saleh added that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization should grasp the significance of the escalating regional and transregional terrorist attacks and recognize how the presence of Afghanistan’s former security forces has benefited the region and the world. Furthermore, he pointed out that it is clear that the security forces of the former Afghanistan army had engaged and subdued most of the “terrorist groups.”

The former Vice President underscored that distinguishing between good and bad Taliban in the foreseeable future will entail significant costs to regional countries by this group. It is worth noting that in the attack on the Revolutionary Guards’ facilities in Iran, 11 soldiers of this country were killed.
