RASC News Agency: Quoting local sources from Pasaband District in Ghor Province, it is reported that the Taliban have confiscated a portion of the cash aid distributed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the people. Sources informed the media on Thursday, Apr 4, that cash had recently been distributed by the United Nations to over a thousand families in Pasaband District of Ghor.

According to sources, the Taliban collected five thousand rupees out of the eighteen thousand kabuli rupees distributed by the United Nations from the recipients. This action occurred after United Nations staff left the distribution area, according to the sources. The Taliban’s move is not unprecedented.

Previously, the Taliban had taken similar action in Kushk Rabat Sangi District of Herat Province. Several international research institutions have repeatedly warned of Taliban interference and takeover of humanitarian aid.

Despite the publication of such reports, the Taliban have denied these claims. Following the Taliban’s takeover of the country, the level of relief agency activities has decreased for various reasons.
