RASC News Agency: The governor of Kandahar province for the Taliban group, Mullah Shirin, is scheduled to travel to Pakistan on Wednesday, January 3rd, as reported by the Express Tribune news website. The report indicates that one of the topics for discussion between Mullah Shirin and Pakistani officials will be the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a Pakistani Taliban group. However, the Taliban group’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, has stated that Mullah Shirin will not be addressing the TTP with Pakistani officials. Mujahid clarifies that the purpose of Mullah Shirin’s trip is to address border violations between Afghanistan and Pakistan and seek solutions to the challenges in this regard.
Contrary to certain media reports, Mullah Shirin’s visit to Islamabad was publicly disclosed a few days ago. Speculations arose that the discussions would center around the TTP. It is noteworthy that the TTP is a group responsible for sporadic terrorist attacks in Pakistan, raising significant concerns among Pakistani officials. While the relationship between Pakistan and the Taliban group has been relatively positive in the past, recent months have witnessed a deterioration due to the presence of the Pakistani Taliban in Afghanistan and subsequent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
The tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan have intensified due to the presence of the TTP in Afghanistan. Pakistan has expressed disapproval of the Taliban’s approach towards the TTP, a group responsible for launching attacks on Pakistan. As a consequence, Pakistan has decided to deport Afghanistani asylum seekers, leading to a further escalation of tensions between the two nations.
