RASC News Agency: Quoting local sources from Herat, the elusive Taliban leader of Herat Provincial Hospital declared that women’s visits to his office are prohibited. Sources informed the media on Wednesday, Apr 3, that this individual, appointed by the Taliban a few days ago to this position in Herat, is named Barat Moein.
Women intending to visit Barat’s office for work-related matters or their requests claim they have not been granted permission to meet with him. One of these women said, “I entered the branch, and all the men went to see the boss. When it was my turn, the office manager told me to leave quickly, saying, ‘Don’t you know the boss doesn’t allow women into his branch?'”
After their takeover of the country, the Taliban have imposed numerous restrictions against girls and women, depriving them of their fundamental rights. The Taliban’s restrictive measures against Afghanistani women and girls have sparked widespread backlash, yet the group has shown no flexibility in this regard thus far.
Deprivation of education, prohibition of employment in governmental and non-governmental institutions, restrictions on free movement, imposition of dress codes, and some other measures are among the key constraints imposed on women by this group.
