Discovery of Three Women’s Bodies in Dasht-e Barchi, Kabul

RASC News Agency: Continuing the pattern of mysterious and targeted killings, local sources report that the bodies of three women have recently been discovered in the western part of Kabul city. Sources informed RASC News Agency on Tuesday, Apr 2, that these bodies were found yesterday, having been moved inside sacks, in a secluded neighborhood near the Pul-e Khoshk area of Dasht-e Barchi.

According to sources, these women were detained by Taliban members several days ago, and their bodies were found showing evident signs of severe torture. The discovery of women’s bodies from various parts of the country following the Taliban’s takeover is not a new phenomenon; in a recent case, the body of a woman was found in the Hajji Nabi district west of Kabul city. In recent months, the Taliban have detained numerous young women and girls from various parts of the country, with many of their fates unknown, while some have been released after payment of ransom.

In the latest incident, the Taliban have detained three young female protesters along with their brother from Dasht-e Barchi in Kabul city, with no accountability to any authority for their actions. Many citizens believe that Taliban members themselves are involved in some of these killings, especially those targeting women’s rights activists and employees of the previous regime, attributing them to unknown individuals.
