RASC News Agency: Local Taliban authorities in Faryab Province have announced the tragic suicide of an 18-year-old girl in the Qormoqul district, bringing her life to an untimely end. According to a statement released by the security commander of the Taliban in Faryab Province, this incident occurred last night, on Saturday, March 23rd, in the village of “Alti Bulak” in the Qormoqul district.

The Taliban statement identifies the girl as Firoozah and asserts that she hanged herself, though the precise reason for her suicide remains unclear.

As per the Taliban security commander’s statement in Faryab Province, the girl’s father mentioned that she had no discernible issues, yet she had consulted a psychiatrist a month earlier. This unfolds against the backdrop of escalating suicide rates among youths, particularly women, across various provinces of the country, as indicated by reports.

Factors such as mental illness, inadequate medical services, domestic violence, hopelessness, and the stringent constraints enforced by the Taliban over the past two years are cited as contributing to the country’s suicide crisis.
