RASC News Agency: According to media reports, a senior Taliban official in Kandahar has confirmed that the recent suicide attack in the province claimed the lives of 45 individuals and left 56 injured. The daily newspaper Hosh Sarbaz reported that a source shared a list of several Taliban members killed in the suicide attack three days ago in Kandahar province with the media outlet on Saturday, March 23rd.
The list includes two high-ranking Taliban officials who were prominent figures in the district, among the casualties of this suicide attack. Meanwhile, Mullah Sharafuddin Taqi, the commander of the Promise Brigade of the Taliban, expressed in a written statement his request to the Taliban’s Defense Ministry to transport the bodies of these two commanders to the district via helicopter.
He also stated his request for the families of these two Taliban commanders to limit the funeral processions due to security threats. The source emphasized that the recent suicide attack in Kandahar province has primarily claimed the lives of Taliban members.
According to the source, this suicide attack has also resulted in the deaths and injuries of some civilians who had gone to Kabul Bank to pay their passport fees.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack on the provincial office of Kabul Bank and alleged that their attacker detonated his suicide belt among a crowd of nearly 150 Taliban members.
