RASC News Agency: Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar province have reported that a young man recently committed suicide in the “Kot” district of the province. Abdul Basir Zabuli, the spokesperson for the Taliban command in Nangarhar, stated that the incident took place yesterday, Wednesday, Mar 20, in the Kot district.

According to Zabuli, the young man, identified as “Rafiullah,” ended his life with a gunshot from a rifle. The Taliban official further mentioned that Rafiullah’s suicide was a result of “domestic violence.” This marks the first reported case of youth suicide in Afghanistan in the new solar year.

Throughout the previous solar year, numerous cases of youth suicides, particularly among girls, have been recorded across various provinces. Experts attribute many of these suicides to domestic violence, feelings of hopelessness about the future, and psychological challenges.
