RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Badakhshan Province, unidentified armed assailants have slain a Taliban commander in the region. Sources informed the media on Sunday, March 17th, that the said Taliban member was fatally shot last night by unidentified armed assailants in Fayzabad, the central district of Badakhshan.

The individual, known as “Shukrullah,” or “Jandullah,” fell victim to the armed assailants and was accused of perpetrating harassment and oppression in the districts of Baharak, Fayzabad, and Jorm in Badakhshan. The assailants, whose identities remain undisclosed, ambushed the Taliban commander, a resident of Khastak village in Jorm district of Badakhshan province, as he was en route to the mosque.

Jandullah held the position of a Taliban commander in the Dasht-e-Darwaz-e Baharak district of Badakhshan. The Taliban group has yet to provide any clarification regarding this incident. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, anti-Taliban military factions operate within Badakhshan province, occasionally targeting Taliban units.
