RASC News Agency: Imangali Tasmagambetov, the Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, stated in his latest remarks that the organization is making serious efforts to strengthen sections of the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, which are under Taliban control. According to the TASS news agency on Tuesday, Mar 12, Tasmaxombetov reported that the organization intends to practically implement the border security reinforcement plan between Tajikistan and Afghanistan starting in July of the current year.

The report indicates that the draft of this plan has been approved by the Permanent Council of this pact and presented to its member countries. According to this official of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the political will of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, which face increased terrorist threats from Afghanistan soil under the Taliban, is crucial for the implementation of this plan.

Member countries of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe had previously warned of the danger of terrorist infiltration into Central Asian countries from Afghanistan soil under Taliban control. A few days ago, Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Defense Minister, stated that the situation in Central Asian countries remains complex due to threats emanating from Afghanistan under Taliban control.

He stated that ISIS seeks to spread radical ideas in Central Asia and carry out destructive activities along the southern borders of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
