RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab province report that, in continuation of mysterious and targeted killings, two individuals, including a former commander of civil uprisings in this province, have recently been murdered. In the first incident, unidentified armed individuals on Thursday night, Mar 7, killed one of the former commanders of the civil uprisings under the previous government, named Alaoddin, in the village of Naghili, Almar district.

The unidentified armed individuals opened fire on him as he was leaving his guesthouse in the district. In another incident, unidentified armed individuals fatally shot 55-year-old Mohammad Amin in the village of Khwaja Qashri, Khwaja Sabzposh district of this province after dinner on Friday, Mar 8. Mohammad Amin was a resident of the Ghand Sang village in the Pushtun Kot district of Faryab province, and the occurrence of this incident has been confirmed by Taliban authorities in Faryab province, although the exact motive and reason for these killings have not been precisely determined.

This comes as, following the Taliban’s takeover of the country, the statistics of criminal incidents, especially mysterious and targeted killings, armed robberies, and the killing of former government soldiers, have increased in various parts of the country. In a previous incident, the body of a man who had been mysteriously murdered was found in Balkh province. It is noteworthy that these reports become public while the Taliban group has consistently claimed to have overall security control in the country following their takeover.
