RASC News Agency: The Special Representative of China for Afghanistan recently disclosed discussions with Ahmad Gurbanov, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, regarding Afghanistan. Yu Shaoyong broached this issue on Friday, Feb 23, via a post on the X social media platform.

He affirmed that China supports Turkmenistan’s hosting of the fifth Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries in 2024. China’s Special Representative for Afghanistan under Taliban rule stated, “We are intensifying our joint efforts to assist in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.”

The fourth Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, attended by foreign ministers from countries such as Iran, China, Russia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, occurred in Uzbekistan in the month of March, 2023. The resolution of political issues in Afghanistan under Taliban rule is among the objectives of the Foreign Ministers’ Meetings of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.

This development comes as the situation of human rights, social, and political conditions in Afghanistan has become critical following the Taliban’s takeover, prompting numerous global authorities to convene meetings to address this issue.
