RASC News Agency: Continuing the restrictions imposed by the Taliban on girls’ education, sources in Kandahar recently revealed that the group has also prohibited girls over the age of 10 from attending school. Sources informed the media on Thursday, Feb 22, that the Taliban has instructed school officials in Kandahar not to allow girls over the age of ten to enter classes below the sixth grade.

According to the sources, authorities at the Taliban’s education department in Kandahar province issued this directive. The Taliban in Kandahar province has yet to officially comment on the matter. This development coincides with the Taliban’s previous orders in several provinces across the country, barring tall girls from attending educational centers. In addition to banning higher-grade girls from education, the Taliban has mandated that students from fourth to sixth grade cover their faces on their way to school.

Furthermore, following the Taliban’s decree on December 20th, 2022, gates to public and private universities were closed to girls and women. It is noteworthy that during their two-year reign, the Taliban have carried out severely violent and oppressive actions against women and girls, particularly in the realm of education.
