RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab Province report the death of Kamaluddin Qara under the torture inflicted by Omidullah Daee Maawiya, the intelligence director of the Taliban group in the Qarqin district of the province. Sources from Faryab Province have informed the media that Taliban intelligence forces detained Kamaluddin on Thursday, February 8, from his home and delivered his corpse to his family the same evening.
According to sources, Kamaluddin’s father is a merchant involved in trade with Turkmenistan. The Taliban intelligence director had threatened this family to extort money from them. Sources further state that after Kamaluddin’s family refused to pay money to Maawiya, he was detained and killed. Omidullah Daee Maawiya is the son of Mullah Ataullah Omari, the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock of the Taliban group. Sources assert that the Taliban intelligence director in the Qarqin district of Faryab Province extorts money from the locals and have added that this Taliban official has consistently threatened and coerced residents under various pretexts.
The Taliban group has yet to comment on the matter. However, prior to this incident, several individuals in various provinces of the country have lost their lives under the torture inflicted by Taliban members. In a recent incident, a young man named Ahmad Wali, a resident of the primary district of Rukha in this province, succumbed to torture by the Taliban group in Kabul city.
