RASC News Agency: In his latest statements, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy of the Taliban’s cabinet, asserted that individuals who collaborated with foreigners and the previous government over the past two decades are currently experiencing peace and security under the leader’s amnesty decree. According to a report from national television under the Taliban’s administration, released on Tuesday, Feb 13, the political deputy of the Taliban’s cabinet made these remarks during his visit to Laghman Province.
Abdul Kabir drew a parallel between the Taliban leader’s general amnesty for former government employees and soldiers and the amnesty decree issued by the Prophet Muhammad for opponents and non-Muslim residents of Mecca. The political deputy of the Taliban’s cabinet affirmed that the “murderers of martyrs” are leading lives free from constraint in Afghanistan under the Taliban’s governance. To justify the general amnesty decree, he cited the triumph of Muslims and the conquest of Mecca in the eighth century Hijri and stated: “Just as the Messenger of Allah pardoned all his opponents after the conquest of Mecca, the Taliban have now revived those traditions that bring pride to the Taliban, not shame.”
Although the Taliban have consistently underscored the general amnesty decree, reputable international organizations and media outlets have documented targeted killings of former Afghanistan security forces by this group. Nevertheless, the Taliban have consistently refuted these reports, asserting that some former soldiers have been killed due to personal vendettas.
