RASC News Agency: Amnesty International once again calls on the Taliban group to immediately release Manizha Sediqi, a female protester, from prison. The plea was articulated by Amnesty International on Friday night, Feb 9, emphasizing that the Taliban group has detained Sediqi without any justification. The organization further elaborated: “Manizha Sediqi, facing no formal charges, remains incarcerated and endures various forms of torture and mistreatment by the Taliban.”

In a social media post, the organization appealed to Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban group, and the leadership of their intelligence agency, urging them to release Sadighi from prison unconditionally. The Taliban group has not yet provided any response to the plea. Taliban intelligence forces detained Manizha Sediqi, a member of their own women’s protest movement, on Oct 9, and subsequently transferred her from a charity hospital in Kabul to prison.

It is notable that since the Taliban’s assumption of power, they have repeatedly detained, imprisoned, and subjected female protesters to various forms of mistreatment. During the Taliban’s reign of over two years, the group has faced accusations of widespread human rights violations, particularly targeting the rights of women and girls, along with efforts to suppress freedom of speech and democracy.
