RASC News Agency: Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban, asserted in a meeting with Khowaja Yadgar Shadmanov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kabul, that Uzbekistan should promptly issue visas to Afghanistan traders. Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on Wednesday, Feb 7, via a newsletter on the X social network, the details of Amir Khan Muttaqi’s meeting with Khowaja Yadgar Shadmanov in Kabul.

During this meeting, Muttaqi emphasized that prompt issuance of visas to Afghanistan traders and drivers would lead to further advancements in the trade sector for both countries. According to available information, discussions were also conducted during this meeting regarding bilateral trade and the transmission of imported electricity to Afghanistan as per the agreement between the two countries.

Despite Uzbekistan’s provision of a portion of Afghanistan’s electricity supply and its existing trade interactions, the Taliban has not officially recognized the country yet.
