RASC News Agency: Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, the Minister of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of the Taliban group, recently stated at a seminar that the Taliban mandate the veil for women and girls to uphold their dignity. Mr. Hanafi made these remarks at the “Strengthening the Islamic System and National Unity” seminar held in Kabul on Wednesday, Feb 7, emphasizing the importance of the veil for Afghanistani women and girls to the group.

However, Mr. Hanafi added that troublemakers attempt to oppose women’s rights under the guise of opposition to the veil, claiming that their efforts over twenty years in Afghanistan have dissipated. Meanwhile, over the past month, the Taliban have detained several girls from provinces such as Balkh, Kabul, Daykundi, Ghazni, and Bamyan for improper veiling, relocating them to undisclosed locations.

It’s worth noting that the Taliban’s actions against women have sparked widespread reactions both domestically and internationally, to which the Taliban have shown no regard.
