RASC News Agency: According to a report from the British publication “The Guardian,” citing its sources, the Pakistani army intends to deploy ISIS fighters to Afghanistan territory under the control of the Taliban group. The article, published on Sunday, January 28th, disclosed that the recent clash between Pakistani border guards and Taliban forces in the Sarkano district of Kunar province originated from Pakistan’s plan to introduce ISIS members into Afghanistan, precipitating the confrontation.
Quoting Ehsanullah Ehsan, a former TTP commander, the report indicates that Pakistan seeks to penetrate Afghanistan using ISIS elements. As per the assertions of this former TTP commander, ISIS fighters attempting to traverse from Pakistani border posts into Afghanistan engaged in conflict with Taliban forces and subsequently eluded Pakistani forces on two occasions. Ehsan emphasized, “Pakistan is unequivocally supporting ISIS fighters there, and its military continues to provide them with assistance, a fact that the Taliban have recognized.”
Moreover, the claims made by this former TTP commander have been substantiated by a senior Taliban official whose identity remains undisclosed in the report. Neither the Taliban nor Islamabad have issued any statements on this matter thus far. These assertions arise as senior Pakistani officials have previously articulated in international forums that the ISIS branch in Khorasan poses a severe threat to Afghanistan and its neighboring countries.
